Our Dental Software & Equipment
Technology only matters when it genuinely supports the process. At AB Esthetic Dental Laboratory, we use a combination of advanced equipment and dental software at our Robina facility to support restorative and implant-related workflows for dentists and referred patients across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Our equipment allows us to translate clinical information into accurate prosthetic designs while maintaining flexibility for case-specific adjustments.
Digital tools support consistency, while hands-on laboratory oversight remains essential at every stage. We select equipment based on how it integrates into real-world restorative workflows rather than novelty. This balanced approach helps reduce uncertainty during fabrication and review stages. To discuss how our equipment supports your cases, contact us on (07) 5632 5610.

Milling Machine for Consistency
Our milling machine plays a central role in producing crowns, bridges and implant components from digital designs. By translating approved designs into physical restorations, milling supports consistency across materials such as zirconia and e.max. Our milling machine allows restorative parameters like margin design and internal fit to be maintained as intended.
While milling handles the bulk of production, each restoration still undergoes laboratory finishing and inspection. Milling also supports repeatability across similar cases, which is particularly useful for multi-unit or staged restorative work.
3D Printed Components In Practice
3D printing supports the production of models, provisional components and planning aids used throughout the restorative process.
By integrating printing into our workflow, we can move efficiently between digital design and tangible reference materials. This proves especially helpful during planning-heavy cases, such as full-arch or implant-supported restorations. Printing complements milling rather than replacing it, giving us flexibility across different stages of fabrication and review.
PrograScan PS5 Scanning
The PrograScan P55 allows high-resolution scanning of impressions and physical models, capturing surface detail accurately for digital design. This scanner supports consistency between physical inputs and virtual workflows, reducing distortion during the transition into CAD software.
By using structured scanning protocols, we can maintain alignment between dentist-provided impressions and final prosthetic designs. This step forms a reliable foundation for subsequent design and fabrication stages.
Exocad Software For Design
Exocad software aids digital design of crowns, bridges and implant restorations through adjustable parameters and flexible workflows. It allows technicians to interpret dentist prescriptions into prosthetic designs while maintaining control over thickness, contour and spacing.
Designs can be reviewed, refined and approved before fabrication begins, supporting clearer communication and fewer surprises later. Exocad integrates smoothly with scanning and milling systems, keeping the workflow structured rather than fragmented.
3Shape Software Integration
3Shape software supports digital case planning, scanning integration and design review across restorative workflows. It allows clinical data to be translated into laboratory designs with consistency, particularly for implant-supported restorations.
By integrating 3Shape into our systems, we can manage incoming digital files and maintain alignment between clinic and laboratory stages. This software assists collaborative workflows without replacing professional judgement, helping technicians apply digital tools within clearly defined restorative parameters.
